City of Bones – Cassandra Clare

City of Bones

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder — much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It’s hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing — not even a smear of blood — to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

This is Clary’s first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It’s also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace’s world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know. . . .

Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare’s ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end.

At first I was like this:

I was a little suspicious about the book, if I would like it or not, but in the end I was like:

And when I heard the book is going to be made into a movie I went into whole fangirl mode

I can tell you that either you love the book or hate it. I belong with the first. I loved this book. I really liked the books characters and the plot was great. Simon with all his quirkiness, Isabell who is a really strong female character, Alec who is gay which is great because the book then represent more than one sexuality, Jace with all his hottness and sarcasm, oh did I love the sarcasm and Clary with her witty, smart and funny remarks. I like how Clary doesn’t take crap, she doesn’t let people walk over her and my favourite scen in the book was acctually when Clary slapped Jace… I mean seriously, during that scene I was like this:

laughing b-laugh

I also love the fakt that Clary is short, I know, why would I care about that fakt? Well all the main female characters is always averge height or really tall, but Clary is almost as short as I am, two centimeter taller maybe, more or less 😉

And I mean, who doesn’t love a shadowhunter? Half angel and half ass-kicking warior, I mean how can you not love that? 🙂

The book also doesn’t bore me, from the first to the last page things happend, and the end, okay maby I had some sucpisions that it would be like that, but it still suprised me.

This book made me laugh (and I mean laugh so hard so your crying and almost pee your pants laugh) cry, fann myself and jump up and down. So if you like ass-kicking warriors, hot guys and funny sarcastic books, read this book! And don’t miss the movie, it’ll be out in the theaters August 23.

Favourite quotes;  “Have you fallen in love with the wrong person yet?’
Jace said, “Unfortunately, Lady of the Haven, my one true love remains myself.”
…”At least,” she said, “you don’t have to worry about rejection, Jace Wayland.”
“Not necessarily.  I turn myself down occasionally, just to keep it interesting.”

“Is this the part where you start tearing off strips of your shirt to bind my wounds?”
“If you wanted me to rip my clothes off, you should have just asked.”

“If you were half as funny as you think you are, you’d be twice as funny as you are now.”

“Don’t touch any of my weapons without my permission.”
“Well, there goes my plan for selling them all on eBay,” Clary muttered.
“Selling them on what?”
Clary smiled blandly at him. “A mythical place of great magical power.”

“What’s this?” he demanded, looking from Clary to his companions, as if they might know what she was doing there.
“It’s a girl,” Jace said, recovering his composure. “Surely you’ve seen girls before, Alec. Your sister Isabelle is one.”

“What do you want?”
“Just coffee. Black – like my soul.”
