New Moon – Stephenie Meyer

The second book in the Twilight Saga.

It begins with Bellas birhtday. She now is one year older than Edward and that fakt haunts Bella in her dreams and life. Alice ofcourse throws a birthday party for Bella, but when she by misstake cuts her finger, hell break lose. Jasper throws himself at Bella and Edward has to defend her against his own family. Because of that incident Edward decides to leav Bella and never come back. Bella is miserable, she feels this hole in her chest and there is nothing she can do about it. When Bella finds out that if she does reckless things she can hear Edwards voice, she finds a couple old motorcykles and gets Jacob to fix them. Bella and Jacob became really good friends wich developes into something else on Jacobs side. When Edward thinks that Bella is dead he decides to infuriate the Voulturi and go outside in the sun and show himself to the people, Bella is the only one that can stop him.

I really like how Bella and Jacobs relationship developes during the book, but still, there is a lot of pages when nothing happens and you get bored reading the book. And after all this time I can’t understand how Edward was thinking, just leaving Bella alone in Forks after evreything that happend in the first book.

So summary; the beginning is slow, the middle is great and the end is kind of lacking.

But there is some great things in this book, my only problem really is the edditing. But the Romeo-Juliett story is great. The forbidden love, the dilemma in the books with the whole human-vampire relationship is that either way the human becomes a vampire or God forbidd the vampire somehow becomes human again. So it’s easy, turn the human to a vampire. But then there is the whole blood drinking-immortal-you-are-going-to-want-to-kill-your-family-and-friends thing 😉

Favourite quotes; “Before you, Bella, my life was like a moonless night. Very dark, but there were stars, points of light and reason. …And then you shot across my sky like a meteor. Suddenly everything was on fire; there was brilliancy, there was beauty. When you were gone, when the meteor had fallen over the horizon, everything went black. Nothing had changed, but my eyes were blinded by the light. I couldn’t see the stars anymore. And there was no more reason, for anything.”

“What a marshmallow. You should hold out for someone with a stronger stomach. Someone who laughs at the gore that makes weaker men vomit.”

“His skin was a pretty colour, it made me jealous.
Jacob noticed my scrutiny.
What?” he asked, suddenly self-conscious.
“Nothing. I just hadn’t realised before. Did you know, you’re sort of beautiful?”
Once the words slipped out, I worried that he might take my implusive observation the wrong way.
But Jacob rolled his eyes. “You hit your head pretty hard, didn’t you?”
“I’m serious.”
Well, then, thanks. Sort of.”
I grinned. “You’re sort of welcome.”

“They call her my singer—because her blood sings for me.”

City of Bones – Cassandra Clare

City of Bones

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder — much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It’s hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing — not even a smear of blood — to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

This is Clary’s first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It’s also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace’s world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know. . . .

Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare’s ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end.

At first I was like this:

I was a little suspicious about the book, if I would like it or not, but in the end I was like:

And when I heard the book is going to be made into a movie I went into whole fangirl mode

I can tell you that either you love the book or hate it. I belong with the first. I loved this book. I really liked the books characters and the plot was great. Simon with all his quirkiness, Isabell who is a really strong female character, Alec who is gay which is great because the book then represent more than one sexuality, Jace with all his hottness and sarcasm, oh did I love the sarcasm and Clary with her witty, smart and funny remarks. I like how Clary doesn’t take crap, she doesn’t let people walk over her and my favourite scen in the book was acctually when Clary slapped Jace… I mean seriously, during that scene I was like this:

laughing b-laugh

I also love the fakt that Clary is short, I know, why would I care about that fakt? Well all the main female characters is always averge height or really tall, but Clary is almost as short as I am, two centimeter taller maybe, more or less 😉

And I mean, who doesn’t love a shadowhunter? Half angel and half ass-kicking warior, I mean how can you not love that? 🙂

The book also doesn’t bore me, from the first to the last page things happend, and the end, okay maby I had some sucpisions that it would be like that, but it still suprised me.

This book made me laugh (and I mean laugh so hard so your crying and almost pee your pants laugh) cry, fann myself and jump up and down. So if you like ass-kicking warriors, hot guys and funny sarcastic books, read this book! And don’t miss the movie, it’ll be out in the theaters August 23.

Favourite quotes;  “Have you fallen in love with the wrong person yet?’
Jace said, “Unfortunately, Lady of the Haven, my one true love remains myself.”
…”At least,” she said, “you don’t have to worry about rejection, Jace Wayland.”
“Not necessarily.  I turn myself down occasionally, just to keep it interesting.”

“Is this the part where you start tearing off strips of your shirt to bind my wounds?”
“If you wanted me to rip my clothes off, you should have just asked.”

“If you were half as funny as you think you are, you’d be twice as funny as you are now.”

“Don’t touch any of my weapons without my permission.”
“Well, there goes my plan for selling them all on eBay,” Clary muttered.
“Selling them on what?”
Clary smiled blandly at him. “A mythical place of great magical power.”

“What’s this?” he demanded, looking from Clary to his companions, as if they might know what she was doing there.
“It’s a girl,” Jace said, recovering his composure. “Surely you’ve seen girls before, Alec. Your sister Isabelle is one.”

“What do you want?”
“Just coffee. Black – like my soul.”

Fallen – Lauren Kate

First when I bought this book I was like:

I mean, look at the cover! It’s beautiful! And the summary on what it was about made it mysterious and exiting to read.

But after I read it I was like:

Okay, maby not like that. It didn’t suck, but it wasn’t exactly good either.

So the book is about Lucinda (Luce) who comes around evrey seventeenth year, and then she   meets Daniel Giorgi, and she dies and then starts to live again. Luce doesn’t know any of this, so when se starts in the school Sword & Cross and there is this mysterious and hot guy who seems really familiar but is so rude Luce is confused. Even when Daniel is rude and makes clear he wants nothing to do with Luce, he still protects her and cares about her – a lot. Daniel is also immortal, so is everybody in Sword & Cross, except Luce. So Luce falls in love with Daniel, and soon he can’t stand to controll himself. But in this lifetime Luce didn’t die. What is different now? And can they break the circle?

I thought this book would be really good, but I was wrong. It was kind of boring, there was a lot of pages that nothing really happend and everything is really confusing. So in the end they just put all the action they can come up with in about 20-50 pages. So suddenly there is a lot going on at the same time and you have no idea what is happening and why. Still, the book had it’s moments 🙂

Favourite quotes: ” – I’ve already had to wait so long. – How long? Luce asked. – Not so long that I’ve forgotteb that you’re worth evreything. Evrey sacrifice. Evrey pain. ”

“What if the person you were meant to be with could never be yours?”

“Trust is carless pursuit at best. At worst, it’s a good way to get yourself killed.”

“The only way to survive eternity is to be able to appriciate each moment.”

Twilight – Stephenie Meyer

The book is about Isabella Swan who moves from bright and sunny Phoenix to the small and rany town named Forks. There she meets the hot, mysterious and intellegent Edward Cullen. Bella is mesmerized about Edward from the moment he steps into the cafeteria. The thing is, Edward is a vampire and he can read every ones minds, eccept Bellas. Edward is intigured to why he can’t read Bellas mind and he soon falls inlove with her. But being humand and inlove with a vampire isn’t so easy. Soon there comes other vampire clans to Forks, and they want Bella.

Okay, I love this book. It’s the typical shy and kinda booring girl meets hot and swoon worthy guy and they fall in love. But soon problems starts to show up, and the question is, will they make it?

I like the love story in this book, and I like that the book never makes you bored. It is 442 pages but from the first moment you open the book to the end things happen. The book is a little bit unreal, I mean, Edward falls inlove with Bella even before he knows her, and Bella doesn’t freak out just a little bit. No, she’s cool with the whole vampires-exists thing. The book would be better if it also had some more sarcasm och witty remarks. I love Bellas relasionship with her father Charlie. Even when you don’t get to know so much about it, you can still see that Charlie loves Bella a lot and the other way around.

I still love the book, maby that’s because I’m a sucker for romance 😉

Favourite quotes: “If  I could dream at all it would be about you. And I’m not ashamed of it.”

” And so the lion fell in love with the lamb.”

“What if I’m not the superhero. What if I.”
